DDB - Advertising Company (020709)

For today, we went to the DDB building (near SGH/Tiong Bahru Market) as there was a call centre that my team need to go. So I got to see a closer glimpse of what DDB looks like!

Not much from the external appearance but I can tell you it's a damn good advertising company that won several noteworthy accolades~

Woodlands Sausage Party (280609)

The four guys had the usual night out at Woodlands for their bbq.

We had our fill with the food even though it was the most sucky out of the 4 pits.

We had enough of sausages that it became an overdose.

We had our laughs, our perspiration and our stories.

We were too obssessed with the Terminator soundtrack.

We had games of daidee and bridge.

We became fat.

Graduation Gown Collection (270609)

Went back to NUS in the morning to collect my graduation gown! YippiE!

hahaha When I reached the MPSH 1, there was quite a long queue as today was actually not the specified gown collection date for my faculty. The gown cost me at about S$54 and then I went to sign up as a Faculty of Science alumni as directed by the personnel there. Then I went to the collection station to collect my gown and my ceremony tickets! Did some trying out and my parents and I certainly had a nice laugh.. at me of course!

Then we went around a "commercial district" in the MPSH where you can see credit card, NUSS, donation, plagues, photo studios and graduation paraphernalia booths lined up for you to buy their premium service because it is your BIG day. haha But I spent S$12 for my stage photo to be taken because they are the only ones designated below the stage to take the photos.. So no choice.

In whole, I spent about S$70 bucks that morning! But nothing compared to my parents forking out S$21,000 for this day.

They will be damn proud of me on 9th July 10am.. they certainly will~

New Laptop and Dinner (230609)

"Gary, you can collect your new laptop from HR now.." I was filled with joy once I heard this over the phone. I quickly rushed to inform my boss to tell him that I will be knocking off soon from work to collect it and he was okay! So I took a shuttle bus from SGH with Josephine (another new executive in my dept) at around 4.30pm and reach there within 15mins of journey. When I reached the HR office.. TA DA.. I saw my new laptop in front of me! hahaha Lenovo Thinkpad T400~ Damn cool. Also met up with Desmond as he was just at his office and we took a picture together~

In the evening, went to meet Alex as usual for discussion and then Claudia joined in shortly with us to have dinner. We then went to a noodle house opposite Bugis Junction called QQ Noodle House which serves Kuching fare. Not bad I must say! You all should try their fried noodles there.. Bagus!

Gelang Patah - Johor Bahru (210609)

I went into Malaysia through the Tuas (Second) Link together with my parents. We had our usual grocery shopping at Giant and Jusco and not forgetting, eat!! hahaha

For breakfast, we settled it at a popular tourist coffeeshop that sells a wide variety of foods such as dim sum, mee hoon kway, wanton noodles, roti prata, economic rice, fried carrot cake, fried oyster omelette etc. So we ordered wanton noodles, lor mai gai (糯米鸡) and fried carrot cake! hahaha I think they were not very good but I would probably pick the carrot cake dish to comment as I am an absolute fried carrot cake lover! I think this carrot cake dish's fundamentals failed badly. The carrot cake itself was too starchy as it felt quite sticky as I chewed on it. The black sauce that was used didn't taste sweet nor salty. Tasteless.. all tasteless.. so it was unacceptable by my own standards.

After our meal, we headed down to Giant and Jusco hypermarts to carry out our grocery shopping, We bought lotsa stuff (food of course!) for our daily usage.

At lunch hour, we went to our favourite seafood place called Tian Tian Lai (天天来海鲜餐馆) and we ordered 2 veggies (Kai Lan & Sweet Potato Leaves) and a Hongkong Style Steamed Sea Bass! Yum Yum.. I love to eat sea bass!! hahaha
